Fun and shopping!

Ok, so after all the chaos for the last week and a half, things have finally calmed down.  We now have work A/C upstairs to sleep (thank God). We went to the lake with friends of ours and had an amazing time!!!.

Went to Opry Mills Mall and got some fantastic deals! Thank you to The Children's Place and Carters, my kids look amazing in your clothes!!! Speaking of thanks....my kids and my friends' kiddos all LOVE this one toy that we have.  It draws every child to it, which amazes me.
VTech - Learn & Dance Interactive ZooThank you V tech for this toy :)  Lots of pictures to come with my kiddos in their new clothes (and maybe some of me in my new clothes).

Breasfeeding to formula

Ok, so I was a breastfeeding momma. I fed the 2 year old until she was 6 months and we got preggo with her sister and the milk dried up (pretty funny way to figure out you're pregnant).  It's a good thing we wanted another baby and weren't using breastfeeding as birth control (it's not a reliable method, lol). I breastfed the baby until she was about 7 months old and I started drying up.

So, apparently not all formula is created equally.  They are all supposed to have about the same ingredients, right?  Not so much.  We used enfamil for 6 months with my older child and it worked well.  Should've kept to what works, huh. Noooooooo....someone told me to go with the cheaper stuff since it's all the same.  Diarrhea and explosive diapers 2x a day!!!! I should also add in that we tried to go witht the cheaper diapers as well.  If they all work about the same then it shouldn't matter, right?  WRONG again.  She exploded so many diapers we finally wound up returning the rest of the box (thanks to the 100% satisfaction guarantee) and the rest of the formula.  So far, since we've made the changes, we haven't had to throw out any more outfits.

Sleep training?

Well last week was a crazy week.  Not only was it quite warm outside (90s and 100 degree temperatures), but our upstairs air conditioning broke.  So we have been sleeping with lots of fans which keeps our upstairs at around 89 degrees LOL.  It's better than no fans :)

I told you about our air conditioning issue because somehow or another our wonderful sleeper turned into a sleep training trainwreck.  One of us would read a book or two to our 2 year old and she would fall asleep within minutes on her own.  Not last week.  Now she asks for more books, tries to get out of bed, screams, throws tantrums, etc.  Basically everything she can do to get mommy's attention.  Unfortunately since it was a new issue I gave in immediately thinking something was wrong and now it has turned into habit :(  Hopefully we get this under control again soon!!!!!

In other news, the baby is now doing better since we changed her formula.  We were giving her store brand formula figuring they all have to be about the same quality- we were wrong.  We changed it and her belly aches are almost history :)

We went out to breakfast the other day at Cracker Barrel and our girls got down on the floor and started playing with the dollhouse they have for sale there.  They were playing together and so nicely.  A parent's dream.  We are, of course, putting that on a birthday wishlist.

Boating

YAY! I got to experience tubing :) A great BIG THANK YOU to our friends who took the four of us out on their boat this weekend and it was SO much fun!  Being in a tube tied to the back of a boat is peaceful and fun and exciting all in one!  I can't wait to do it again.  I will add this to the list of watersports I have tried and loved.  On that list is kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, jetskiing, and now tubing :)  No wonder my kiddoes love the water.  The girls got to play in the sand for the first time together and it was soooo cute. They absolutely wore themselves out.

Having fun at the beach :) They wanted to hang out in the tube after they watched all of the adults go tubing!

Birthdays

So apparently it's birthday time around here.  We just celebrated my older one's 2nd birthday! how the time flew by that quickly I will never know.  It's already time to plan my little one's 1st birthday. Craziness.  At least I don't have to plan the hubby's birthday (which is also coming up).

Sooooooo, on that note.  Here are some pictures from the 2 year old's birthday party :)  Hmmmmm, who can guess the theme? Yep, my child is obsessed with  Elmo

On to more party planning :) Thinking ladybug theme for the little one.  She won't know the difference anyway right?  Eh, at least she'll get to see pictures, or blogs, or whatever is popular when she gets older. Will post more pictures and ideas later (hopefully, lol)

Silly Pets

I was definitely expecting this blog to be about my kiddos when a friend pointed me to info about animal stuff. That's right, duh, I have 2 animals too lol. I have a black Labrador retriever (about 80 lbs) and a fat little orange tabby. I call him fat since he's about 14 lbs.
Cat being silly in a laundry basket.  He's so sweet and innocent until you open the door. Yep, he's an inside cat who thinks he can survive outside.  Silly cat.

She is so protective of her humans it's amazing.  We got so lucky when we decided to adopt her from a local humane society 4 years ago.

Ok, so a big thank you to camomeetscouture@blogspot.com for helping me start this blog. I tried a couple of times on my own with no success. Hopefully this one does the trick. They do say the third time's the charm....we will see how true that is :)

So, to start off, let me introduce my family. My husband is in the army, yes I am an army wife and proud of it! He is wonderful and amazes me everyday! We have two beautiful little girls who also amaze me everyday. How we got so lucky to have found each other and have our healthy little girls I will never know, but I thank my lucky stars. We have a 2 year old who is into- well, everything! And we have a 10 month old who has figured out that standing is so much more fun than crawling lol. Yes, they are only 14 months apart. Our 10 month old got the eviction notice at only 34.5 weeks, but she hasn't seemed to let that matter. More craziness in the next post!
